So I'm scrolling through my Facebook timeline and I come across this story from the Huffingtonpost with this headline: Forget Wigs, Lace Front Eyebrows Are Taking Over. At first I thought this was a joke. Until I actually read the article and found out that these "eyebrows" are sold at a texas beauty salon called Tiffani Chanel Luxury Hair. Tiffani Chanel Luxury Hair has a wide range of products from custom made wig units, weaves, etc. They have 2 kinds of units for lace eyebrows: male and female. And they only cost $22.50.

There are countless other videos on how on put these eyebrows on. This trend stems from the trend of the full thick but shaped brow. Cara Delevingne is a good example of a person being revered for their brows. She's like the number one person people want to model their brows after. So to gain that look they go for eyebrow pencils, powders, wax pencils, stencils, and now lace brows.

I'm not against the trend for people who suffer from alopecia, lupus, cancer, hereditary baldness, or any other disease that can cause hair loss. These types of diseases and hereditary complications are all plausible reasons for a person to purchase these brows. But if you are just a normal person looking for that perfect brow then I just think that this is ridiculous. Do what we all do buy some serum for eyebrows and lashes and let it grow. There is no need to look like this:

Lupita Nyong'o is everyone's favorite obsession now a days and it was only a matter of time before she started showing up everywhere doing ads for major beauty and fashion companies. Well the time has come! Lupita Nyong'o is now the face of Lancome a french based beauty and skin care company. Lancome has made Lupita their new brand ambassador and she will star in ads that will begin circulation around September. Check out this tweet from Lancome:

"What appealed to me about Lancôme is that they're not dictating what beauty is, hopefully it’s a symbiotic relationship - that I benefit from being associated with them, and they benefit from being associated with me, as well. And for the consumer at large, I think Lancôme has a range of products for every woman, and I think having me will expand people’s understanding of, hopefully, what Lancôme stands for, who Lancôme is for."

Lupita Nyong'o isn't the first academy award winning actress to gain a deal from Lancome. Kate Winslet, Julia Roberts and Penelope Cruz all have been linked to Lancome at some point but Lupita is the first African American woman to become the brand ambassador.


Hopefully with Lupita on board Lancome will provide a wider range of product (in terms of foundation especially) that will suit all skin tones and types. Similar to what Queen Latifah did for Covergirl.

Lancome isn't the only brand that has acquired Lupita. Miu Miu noticed that Lupita had a kinship with some of their pieces from their collection (she wore some of them at events and award shows) and they tapped Lupita to star in their upcoming Spring/Summer ad campaign for 2014.

RuPaul is THE most famous drag queen in the world. A supermodel, recording artist, and mother of all drag queens she's definitely put her stamp on the world! Now she's doing it again! RuPaul has launched her own makeup line called Glamazon. Partnering up with Colorevolution, RuPaul has a unisex perfume and a cosmetic gift set. They are reasonably priced and available exclusively at Colorevolution. Currently Colorevolution is only place its available but they will be available soon at Ricky’s NYC and other select other outlets.

In Makeup you advance by doing. There is no shortcut you just have to get up and do it! I have gotten better in my makeup application. My only problem area is my eyebrows but I am working on it ;). Anywho here are some photos of my makeup progression. And some Videos!

In the first half of my makeup applications I was only using one color and not doing any blending or crease cutting. It looked good enough, gave me a small pop of color. In the second of half of my makeup applications you'll be able to see how I began to use certain techniques in my makeup: crease cutting, playing with dark and light colors, giving my eyes shape and dimension.














These are just the different ways I have done my makeup. I've been able to evolve in makeup because I kept at it. Makeup is an enhancement tool. You can do so many creative things with makeup and its simple small techniques that can help you to achieve everything from smokey eyes to simple everyday looks. Just try it out. As a plus size woman its difficult to find shoes in my size. I wear a size 11 and it takes a tremendous amount of work to search for the right shoe. Besides the size it has to be able to support my weight and be fashionable. With that being said here are some of my favorite places to find some awesome shoe finds from Luxury and Affordable so let's get started:





Jewel High

The first place I am going to tell you guys about is a company called Jewel High. It was launched on March of 2013. Currently she is working on her collection but for now she has 2 pairs of awesome heels Poison and Tami.

Poison is a purple and yellow animal print platform heel. A mixture of both suede and leather is as complex and unique as it is both intriguing and fashionable, I love it! It's great for all the girls and guys who love high a heel but can't find it in their size. Plus the shoe is on trend with its vibrant colors and ultra high platform heel standing at a whopping 5'4" heel and a 1.5" platform. Available in sizes 6-15, Poison is definitely a must have in your spring/summer closet.

Tami on the hand is more on the minimalist side. In very pretty gunmetal and silver colors Tami has several different features that would draw the eye. Contrasting the gunmetal gray and silver was genius. It really allows the colors to play off of each other. The closed toe shoe has a window like view on the top of the shoe and interchangeable strap choose either gunmetal or silver your choice.can be worn with a beautiful evening dress or your favorite jeans. Although I love Gwen Stefani's style and swag her shoe line is the BUSINESS. Unfortunately I haven't seen it go beyond a size 10! Aww and its a shame because the shoes are so awesome! I love Gwen Stefani's entire line. She's very avant garde and you can't help but admire her creativity. A popular store among plus size women is torrid.com! Torrid dabbles in everything from shoes to clothes to jewelry to handbags and even perfume! But for this blog were going to focus on the shoes. For all my girls wearing sizes 6-13, Torrid has beautiful shoes unique to their company. They even offer medium width and wide width. You will be pleasantly surprised at the selection they have available. Torrid has boots, heels, wedges, sandals and flats. They are very trendy and change their shoe collection about every 3-4 months.

Jessica Simpson's brand is one of the biggest affordable brands in the fashion industry to date. She has made herself the go to girl for women and girls who are looking for fashionable shoes without the high price. Jessica Simpson provides shoes in sizes 5-11. They are available everywhere. From Heels.com to Macys to Sears. I personally love Jessica Simpson's shoes. I don't have A-Lister star money and its difficult to find shoes that are on trend or fashionable (beyond Payless) that look great and are affordable and not $6,000! I mean you saw the Christian Louboutins its unfortunate for gals like me who cant afford it but Jessica Simpson has made life a little bit more fashionable for us! Speaking of Payless LMAO. Payless has been around for years over the last decade they have been stepping up their game making original fashionable shoes that look like a million bucks but cost 25 bucks! Its the most affordable place to shop in the world for affordable fashionable women's shoes! Designers have exclusively used Payless as their outlet source for their fashionable creations. Designers like Christian Siriano, Lela Rose, and Isabel Toledo just to name a few.

I stumbled upon makemechic.com through YouTube. YouTube is a great way to find inexpensive clothing, makeup, anything you need most of these Gurus have found it! Its a great site and wonderful company. The site contains shoes, clothes and accessories. But today were going to focus on the shoes. The shoes are so CUTE! You are going to LOVE makemechic.com and not to mention the handbags! But thats another blog for another time. Anyway, the sizes are 5-11. They don't carry a wide selection of wide widths either so be careful of that. I wasn't hip to Aldo until my little sister started frequenting their store. She loves shopping at the mall and I would see her come home with a bag full of Aldo shoes and bags. Its her favorite store. Anyway, Aldo specializes in leather products but they provide a whole lot more. From heels, to clothes, to really cute bags, Aldo is a permanete fixture on this list for trendy, fashionable shoes at an affordable price! Go Jane!

Go Jane is a very up to date shoe site that provides affordable shoes for size 5 to 11. Listen I love this site but it is so difficult to shop with them. Honestly I never get the shoes I really want because they are out of my size so fast. Go Jane is extremely cheap as well. They are so awesome. I mean I could frequent this site for a month and still won't get the shoes I want. I will still be subject to missing out on some of my favorite shoes. They have vey trendy and eclectic shoes. Shoes to wear to the club shoes to wear to a party everything. Check them out. I'm telling you that when you go there you'll be more than ecstatic at the selection. But find out when new shipments come in (email or call), that way you won't be stuck with the silly look on your face because you can't get the shoes you want. IronFist Clothing






This is my all-time FAVORITE shoe company EVER!!!! I love their shoes. I found them through torrid.com. I was shopping and saw that IronFist had made an exclusive shoe with torrid and made it available to their customers exclusively. I bought it and it was so comfortable and beautiful. I was in HEAVEN and I've been a loyal customer ever since! I have about 3 pairs of IronFist shoes and I love them dearly. I've bought several pairs of IronFist shoes but they didn't fit and I was upset because I really loved them. Some of the cutest and most avante garde shoes you will ever see believe me!
