b michael is one of the most prominent african american designers in the world. Having worked for major design houses like Oscar de la Renta and Louis Feraud, b michael was able and more than willing to start his own couture line in 1999.

He describes his signature style as “It is a modern approach to glamour. It is also about achieving a very sophisticated, yet simplistic look. A woman who wears b michael knows how to wear a basic dress and make it look glamorous.” In his social/personal life, b michael is known for his glamorous dinner parties, with extravagant floral arrangements and engaging conversations. He is a vintage book collector, and he also collects artifacts and photography. And he is a full on partier! You can find him in some of New York's trendiest spots.

He's garnered many admirers like Ms.Cicely Tyson, Tamara Tunie, Susan Fales-Hill, Alicia Bythewood, Amy Fine Collins, Victoria Rowell, Nancy Wilson, Beyonce Knowles, Colleen Atwood, Pearl Nipon, Lena Horne, Lynn Whitfield, Angela Bassett and Myrna Colley-Lee. b michael is a stand out at New York Fashion Week.





He is also a guest lecturer at New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology and serves on several charitable advisory boards, including New Yorkers For Children and Fashion Targets Breast Cancer. B Michael became a member of the CFDA, an organization known to recognize America’s leading fashion and accessory designers. B Michael is also actively involved with Autism Speaks, Dream Yard Project, and Cicely Tyson School Of Performing And Fine Arts.
